Southern California Photo Shoot Locations

Here is everything you need to know about photo shoot locations in Southern California! I have spent a lot of time and effort looking into photo locations and I love sharing these with my clients and fellow photographers!

First, lets talk about Southern California Beaches!

Treasure Island/Goff Island in Laguna

  • About a 10 minute walk from parking

  • street parking required, park on PCH and walk down

  • requires going down stairs

  • beautiful backdrops and gorgeous sunsets

  • can be crowded during the summer months

Little Corona Del Mar

  • Free street parking near residential houses

  • gorgeous views of ocean and rocks

  • large paved hill to walk up and down to get to the beach

  • can be busy during summer months

Newport Beach Pier

  • Plenty of street parking and also a paid parking

  • easy walk down to the water

  • family friendly

  • can be busy during summer months

Victoria Beach in Laguna Beach

  • Parking on PCH

  • There is a long walk down to the beach, but it is paved

  • hide tide makes it not possible to go to the Pirate Tower

  • Do not park on the residential streets, its very confusing and easier to just walk down from PCH

Crescent Bay Beach

  • free street parking

  • long steep paved hill to walk down to the beach

  • fairly crowded on weekends in the summer

  • variety of backdrops

Quail Hill in Irvine, CA

  • Irvine, CA

  • Limited parking arrive early

  • tall reeds and greenery (photos below were taken in February)

  • variety of backgrounds

Corona Hills/Devil’s Basement

  • A little bit of walking from spot to spot, wear good shoes!

  • Easy and free parking

  • there is a fence that they put up recently so you do have to climb over a small fence, it is totally legal to shoot there, I have asked the city

  • Straw Field in the summer, grass/flower field in the spring time, dirt field in the fall/winter!

  • Variety of backgrounds in one single location!

Skyline in Corona, CA

  • Easy walk

  • variety of background options

  • Not the main trailhead

  • easy and free parking

Tom’s Farms- Lawson Road Corona, CA

  • Family friendly

  • easy and free parking, no walk

  • flowers in the spring, pretty in the fall and summer, but the winter it is more brown

  • variety of backgrounds

Yorba Regional Park

  • $3.00 parking fee for weekdays

  • $5.00 parking fee for weekends

  • Paved roads easily accessible

  • Variety of locations

  • family friendly

  • playgrounds, paddle boats, bike rentals

Downtown Riverside

  • Street parking, may be meter parking depending on the day and time

  • paved roads

  • ideal for early morning sessions

  • busy later in the day and at Christmas time

The Crossings in Corona, CA

  • Free Parking

  • Pretty landscaping

  • shopping center

  • great for seniors, portraits, and couples

Irvine Regional Park

  • $3 parking on weekdays and $5 parking on weekends

  • a lot of variety in backgrounds

  • easily accessible

Spark Studios

  • Orange County Studio

  • $170 rental fee

  • variety of rooms you can choose from that fit your style

  • Very easy to find and work with

  • Room to get ready and do touch ups

LEF Studios

  • $85.00 rental fee per hour

  • in home studio of @lefphoto

  • great for small families and newborn photos
